Hi, I’m Mikaela (she/her). I have experience working with clients across the lifespan, but often work with clients aged 16+. I like to tailor my approach to therapy based on the individual needs of the client, informed by a psychodynamic framework and drawing upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). As a therapist, I am warm, authentic, and am committed to supporting you to feel comfortable and connected in therapy.

Dr Mikaela is not currently taking new clients until late 2025 due to maternity leave and is not keeping a waitlist during this time.
I enjoy supporting clients who not only want to relieve their symptoms, but wish to really know themselves and understand how they relate to others. Many people have been exposed to environments that have not helped them to flourish and as a result, have developed patterns of behaviour to protect against emotional pain. As time goes on, these patterns may no longer be helpful and may get in the way of developing meaningful relationships, being able to regulate emotions effectively, or pursing the life they really long for. In therapy, we explore how attachment may impact these difficulties and support you to be in touch with your most authentic self to create the life you deeply desire.
I have a particular interest in working with clients who have experienced grief and loss (this may be the loss of a loved one or adjusting to a significant change in life); and clients who have experienced a traumatic event and finding it difficult to cope or wish to make sense of their trauma.
I offer cognitive and diagnostic assessments for children and adults seeking assessment for the following; Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Intellectual Disability, and learning difficulties.
